Our visit to Manly beach to do a little bit of Snorkling!

Photo set 018 - Uploaded October 21, 2008 (16 photos)

On our way to Manly beach, we stopped at a place called North Head (?) to visit a little tourist walk thingy.

Australia Day 5 - Rather than spend another day in the bad weather, we decided to spend it indoors, drinking beer throughout some of Sydney's pubs. We ended up spending most of our time inside the casino, but since we won a ton of money, that was ok too.

Australia Trip - Day 4
Brendon, Sam and I headed to Royal National Park for a little hike on Saturday. It was so nice, with lots of cliffs and rock pools and a nice laid back trail. We didn't go in the water, since it was about -20 C, but otherwise it was great fun.

Day 2 - Lunch with Stu and the Ledge
I trained to Sydney, hung out and had some beer, and then met up with Stuart for a little lunch action. Later I headed to the Ledge for some "climbing" (two problems, then I got bored and sore) and then eventually went out for dinner with the ol' posse.

My arrial in Sydney! After getting off the plane I made my way to wherever Brendon works. We had lunch, then I hung out for the day until I met him downtown after work. Was very weird to be back. Returning to a place is always a strange experience.

Belated photos of Bronwen running the Sydney Marathon. I had to be undercover because I didn't want to psych her out while she was running, so the quality isn't so high, but I think it's all good. Some good shots resulted, and I was there supporting Team Kenya, you know what I mean?

Photos from my going-away get-together that me and the roomies had at my house. Was pretty fun, lots of people showed up and ate lots of food, etc. Fun photos, including a giant spider of hell.

This is it! The moment you've all been waiting for! The marathon photo set Part III: The Final Solution. Me and Brendon run our hearts out, and finish the race! Machine Brendon goes on to finish the 50 km, while sissy Michelle nearly falls over at the 42.2 km finish line! Then we go home!

Part II of the marathon photos! Saturday April 9th. Julie is racing in the 10 km, and me and Brendon are so nervous it's insane. Julie kicks ass, of course...

On the way to Canberra Marathon! We arrived, went to our hotel and checked out some of the sites that Canberra has to offer. Not much, turns out. Ha.

Brendon had a bunch of people over to his place for his birthday party, so I brought along the camera. Yep.

On Saturday (or was it sunday) me and Zoie took the afternoon to walk around the Botanical Gardens, which is down near the watefront. It's a pretty sweet park, lots of stuff to look at, including sleeping bats and crazy spiders and who knows what else. We got some shots of the Opera House in the sunset (though they didn't really work out) and had a nice day. Enjoy the photos.

A while back I went to this Jazz Fest thingo, it was pretty good. I went with a bunch of climber girls, and one non climber girl, but she never really spoke to me, so for all intents and purposes, I still hang out exclusively with stupid rock climbers. But I digress. The Jazz thing (Jazz in the Domain?) was awesome, and it was a very good time had by all.

Monday Rocio and I met up with Marcel and his friends Elsa and Mike, and we went up to the Blue Mountains for a little day out hiking. It was fun, we drove up in Mike's nice rental car, and hiked a cool trail (warning: experienced walkers only! .. who isn't an experienced walker?) that wound it way down the cliffs and through some waterfalls and stuff. Quite fun. Between taking pictures and making fun of Rocio for walking too fast, the day just flew by! We went out for food after, which was semi-good, then drove home, and Marcel flew back to Hong Kong. A good visit, in all.

Sunday Bronwen got back from her trip to Thailand, and Tuesday I took work off, so her and I went to the Blue Mountains! My first trip outside of Sydney, really. It was amazing. The "mountains" (more like a hill with some canyons/cliffs in it) are so nice. The climbing is quite good, and I had fun, considering how sketchy I was, my first time *really* going rope climbing in like, years. Bronwen did all the hard work, plus she was the tour guide. We saw lots of animals, small lizard, giant lizard, insanely red birds, and a super evil snake that was huge (the biggest I've ever seen, except maybe for pythons in the petshop or zoo) that was completely unafraid, and was pretty much hunting us. We went another way. Bronwen was flipping out, she thought it was a Brown Snake, which is apparentely like the 3rd most deadly snake in the world? I dunno, I wanted to take more pictures, I'm like the crocodile hunter you know? But it was kinda freaking me out too, the whole hunting me down thing. Anyway, it was awesome (the trip I mean. the snake too mind you). Enjoy a few shots.

After climbing at Queen's park on Saturday, me and Rocio went and did the tourist thing, and headed to Bondi Beach to check out "Sculpture's by the Sea". It was very cool indeed. It was also a nice day for the beach. The ice cream was definitely the way to end the day.

Geoff and his brother had been in Australia for a long time, vacationing, and came down to Sydney while I was there, so that was cool. They gave me their $900 car, because they couldn't sell it in one day. I drive it now, though I've nearly died a few times. I also took some pictures of my office and some of the University grounds (on the way to the climbing wall). Enjoy.

These are my first pictures from my new home of Sydney. Well, one is still in the plane. Note that I hate flying. The rest are pretty random. I got bored one day, or tired of looking for a house, and went to see the "downtown". Another day I was bored and check out Bondi Beach. Pretty typical, but I guess it's a pretty nice spot.
