A little set of photos from the last few trips to Squamish. Most are blurry because it's so damned dark in there, but a few are cool anyway. Some of me working "Lucky Sharms" and Colin and Bob working on "Backseat".

Photo set 049 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (28 photos)

This is Part 3 of the Bishop Set. Today me and Ahdont decided to go to the Happies. Ahdont started working "The Hulk" and I did pretty much nothing, as far as I can remember. Oh yeah, because my elbows were sore beyond belief.

Photo set 048 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (29 photos)

This is Part 2 of the Bishop set. Still climbing at the Buttermilks.

Photo set 047 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (30 photos)

This is Part 1 of a many part set of photos from Bishop, California. Me, Colin and Ahdont went down during the week of March 14-19. A short trip, but very good. Shame about the record breaking high temperatures, but ah well. Enjoy!

February 3rd? Or was it fourth? We went to Squamish, and it was a cold, clear morning. For a while. Then it started to snow. We had an awesome time, but I hardly took any photos. Colin got a few too though. So it works out.

Photo set 045 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (26 photos)

Saturday the 27th of January Colin and I headed up to Squamish to check out the bouldering. IT was cold enough, but clear and sunny, and the forest was pretty dry. We got on a bunch of problems, notably ATD, V8. I got on The Egg and was shown some new beta that makes it super easy, so that was cool. Anyway, it was nice day. We met up with Satoshi, William and Andy and his fam.

Photo set 044 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (92 photos)

My second big day up in Squamish. Or maybe third. Anyway, I did Sesame Street (V9) and got back on the Egg. The Egg (V11?) kicked my ass, but at least I pulled my ass off the ground. That counts for a lot. Dan did really good, he sent Titanic. And Roberto did awesome, sending Superly and more. Good day!

Photo set 043 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (43 photos)

There's actually two trips here. One from last Monday (Labour day?) and one from just today, Saturday the 14th of October. Me and Dan went up both times, and last time Heather came up too. Dan's first day bouldering, and he did lots of cool problems, including nearly sending Titanic, which is quite hard. Good trips, and nice to be back.

I finally went climbing outdoors again! A trip to Squamish on Sunday morning (the 14th of May 06?) with Heather to do some bouldering. I was supposed to be working on my thesis, but I made the right decision and went out instead. I got on "The Proposal" and Heather started working "The Cutting Edge", and we had an awesome day. Hopefully many more to come.

Some photos from the uNB Halloween climbing competition that me and Chris set the problems for. A fun time was, I believe, had by all.

Photo set 040 - Uploaded May 21, 2008 (70 photos)

Saturday the 22nd of Oct. I headed out with Chris and John and a bunch of guys and checked out some newly found bouldering in an area about an hour from here in a small town called Macadam. Or maybe it was nearer a smaller town called Canterbury. In any case, there is lots of climbing and it was fun. We put up 3 new problems, and it was good.

This is three more climbing visits. One to Shek O and a couple more to Chung Hom Kok. I did two new climbs and started working a new (and very hard) project. All in all, a great few days!

Photo set 038 - Uploaded May 20, 2008 (58 photos)

Here's a few pics from 3 trips.. one to Tsuen Wan, where it was impossibly hot. One to Chung Hom Kok West, where it was also impossibly hot, and one mid-week trip to Chung Hom Kok East, where it was beautiful! HK can be good, at times!

Photo set 037 - Uploaded May 23, 2008 (17 photos)

One final climbing trip on Sydney... a visit to Crumbly to get on Abacus one last time (no progress to report). Brendon got on Chaos and Disorder and Kyo sent "Anorexic", his hardest send to date! Though the holds were wet, it was a nice day out.

Photo set 036 - Uploaded May 21, 2008 (84 photos)

Here's my photos from my trip to the Grampians with Duncan and Rob. It was a pretty crappy climbing trip, but a fun time nonetheless.

Photo set 035 - Uploaded May 26, 2008 (48 photos)

First, a short trip to Bonnet Bay and Wing Cave (no pics), then a trip on Monday to Bungonia with Brendona and Rob, my first time visiting, then finally a trip to a little crag called Jessica's with Stu and Rob. Good times.

Photo set 034 - Uploaded May 26, 2008 (34 photos)

Saturday and Sunday, though I was horribly unmotivated and terribly sick, I still managed to get out of bed and head out to boulder, along with Robyn (visiting from the states) and Duncan, both days. We met up with Stu and Charles at Crumbly on Saturday.. was fun, but slow. Sunday was nice and warm, a perfect day. I got on "The Corridor", a newly opened V12 at Frontline. Beautiful!

Photo set 033 - Uploaded May 20, 2008 (39 photos)

Met up with fellow Canadian Ben Turner and had a few good days out. First we gave him a rude awakening at Sutherland on Sunday, then Monday (the Queen's Birthday) we went to Frontline. It was good.

Photo set 032 - Uploaded May 24, 2008 (25 photos)

The day Suetman took off we hooked up with Stu, Charles and some guy James Sherry, a friend of Stu's, and did a bit of climbing at Crumbly. No one sent anything new, but it was a nice morning anyway.

Photo set 031 - Uploaded May 19, 2008 (79 photos)

Suetman, Duncan and Antoine did a bit of climbing without me while I worked.. first a trip to Pearl Bay and Sandy Bay, then again later on to Fear Factory. I joined on a trip to Frontline in between though.. This photo set encompasses all three trips.

Photo set 030 - Uploaded May 19, 2008 (28 photos)

A weekday trip to Frontline with Suetman, Antoine and Brendon. A beautiful cool sunny afternoon. Perfection! Suetman sends Paratroopin'!

Photo set 029 - Uploaded May 20, 2008 (27 photos)

Suetman and Antoine's first trip to Sissy.. not the best weather, but a fun time, I suppose.

Photo set 028 - Uploaded May 29, 2008 (16 photos)

Saturday afternoon I finally went back to The Villas in Sutherland, with Brendon, and got on "Contact" again. Went so well, I actually stuck the crux move and did all the others, so it's just a matter of linking it now! Brendon finished off "Burgers" and a really sweet V6, and it was a wicked day.

Photo set 027 - Uploaded May 18, 2008 (29 photos)

Tuesday (I think it was) morning we hooked up with Ever-tardy-Duncan, and drove over to Queen's Park. Sophie met us later too, and climbed a bit, and We all had a fun time, on such routes has "Rebirthed" and a few hardies like "Curvi-linear" (no pics) and "The Contender", as well as some stuff on the cobweb wall that is still unnamed. Some nice photos, and a nice morning out.

Photo set 026 - Uploaded May 21, 2008 (24 photos)

The shots since my computer was stolen. First a trip to Crumbly with the boys, then a trip to Sissy with Duncan, Brendon and some guy Keith from Melbourne, then another trip to Crumbly, in which Stu sent "Black Magic"!

Photo set 025 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (23 photos)

Another set with two trips in it. This time a session at Frontline with Duncan and Brendon on Sunday (everyone else bailed.), then a session front Monday at Crumbly, during which I sent Mushi Brain! No pics though... Oh well, some awesome shots of Stu on Black Magic. Enjoy!

Photo set 024 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (48 photos)

This set is two trips. First a trip with Brandon to a place called Bonnet Bay in Sutherland, with Stuart, and then a trip to Sissy with Charles on the morning that Brandon had to fly out. Lots of good pics.

Photo set 023 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (22 photos)

Brandon's visit from LA to Sydney involved a first trip to Frontline. Some shots of him on some fun stuff. Enough to document the occasion, at least!

Photo set 022 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (11 photos)

Me and Charles headed out for a Tuesday afternoon session at Frontline. Stu couldn't come because he was working, and Simon never showed.. Can't remember where Brendon was... Anyway, a few pics, to keep you busy.

Photo set 021 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (35 photos)

Went to Frontline today! Stuart and Dr. Barrel piked like married men, but Brendon, Duncan, Clare, Tony, Julie and I headed out like true champions. It was significantly warm (29 deg?) but very nice. At least, until my bicep burst. Oh well.

Photo set 020 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (28 photos)

Took the afternoon off work today and drove up to Frontline with Dr. Barrel, Sophie, Brendon, Julie, Stuart (The Scottish Version) and Simon. Had a wicked day. Lots of good photos!

Photo set 019 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (40 photos)

Here's a photos set from not one but three trips.. A trip to Crumbly, then two seperate trips to Frontline. Not too many awesome shots, but it's better than watching grass grow.

Photo set 018 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (23 photos)

A beautiful Saturday morning Frontline session with Ari, Sam, Clare and Brendon. Oh, and Duncan. And me too. It was good, nice and cool and blue skies and some nice climbing. Brendon sent "Sloper-dan Milosevic" today, in just a few goes.

Photo set 017 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (10 photos)

Another Tuesday night session at Crumbly. Strong guy named Saxon was there, who gave me some good beta for Mushi Brain and Chaos and Disorder (hard!). Everyone made awesome progress on Sushi Train, Duncan made wicked progress on Anorexic, and I made awesome progress on Genesis! I made it to the crux without anyone taking weight! I am the weiner!

Photo set 016 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (22 photos)

Went back up to Crumbly with Stu and Charles. The pictures are pretty shit because we spend all our time on the same problems, so there's not much variety, and not much for good angles. Oh well. They've nearly sent "Sushi Train" and I worked on "Genesis" some more, and everyone made progress. A good day.

Photo set 015 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (32 photos)

Today I went out with Barrel and Stu to check out the situation at the Trenches. It wasn't as shitty as I'd remembered... no wait, it was. There was spiders everywhere, nasty ones, that made huge webs all over the place. Anyway, I let Charles lead the way, with the blessing stick. We went to this big cave after we'd warmed up, and it was actually quite good, lots of nice problems including a long V6 that was more like a route (that I onsighted, hella sweet) and a really nice V5 with a great topout (also got the onsight), as well as some other things, including a V10 that I will be able to do, if I ever come back. It was insanely hot, but a nice day in the shade, anyway. Enjoy the pics.

Photo set 014 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (13 photos)

Went back to Sissy, this time with Brendon, Duncan, Stuart and Charles. And me. Oh wait, "with" implies that I was there. Anyway, it was good. I sent hard, everyone else climbed hard, and the trees were really sneezing. What happens if a goat mates with a horse? Do you get a gorse? Or a hoat? Is it friendly, or ornery? Can it still chew through tin cans? That could be a problem. This terrifying half-breed should be made illegal by the United Nations.

Photo set 013 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (30 photos)

Thursday night I rode up to Sissy with Stuart and Charles, and it was a good time. The weather was rainy and it was humid, but that didn't slow us down too much. I don't think I did a single new problem, but alot of repeats counts for something, no?

Photo set 012 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (5 photos)

Sunday, back up at Crumbly with Brendon! That place kicks ass. Brendon nearly sent "Anorexic" and I sent "Sushi Train" after a few more tries, and started working on am amazing V10 called "Chaos and Disorder" as well as hopped on a V13 called "Genesis" (I think). Just a few shots, but they are sweet.

Photo set 011 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (28 photos)

Friday Duncan got off work and we headed up to a place called "Crumbly", which isn't too far from Sissy, up in North Sydney somewhere. I thought it was just a small cave... fromo the photos it looks tiny. Turns out it's this massive huge cavern. The climbing is super hard (lots of V10's, 11's, up to V13), and the easier line there is a really hard V5 called "Anorexia", I think. Anyway, we had a great time, though we kept it short, to meet up with Bronwen at work and then head to the Ledge to climb indoors too. We climbed all day, and then the next morning I met up with Brendon, and we headed out to Queen's Park. It rained, but it was still good. We worked some hard stuff, and I found this awesome problem that I worked for a while, but didn't quite send.

Photo set 010 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (33 photos)

Sunday was a long day.. I went climbing early in the morning with Brendon at this place called the Trenches, which is in Baulkham Hills, near Frontline. It was so-so.. pretty limited, didn't get much traffic, and all the routes were really highball. Not much variation. The guidebook (which I despise with all my being) was even worse for this area than for others, so it didn't help. We stuck around for a bit, but were both feeling lazy, so we left. Later that day I met up with Bronwen, (after she got off work 45 mins later than expected!) and we drove up to Sissy for some more bouldering. Was pretty good, I sent that route "Travis" that I had been working on before, and some other stuff. She nearly sent "Foam" (next time?) and another one that was also quite hard. We had a good time. I like it there.

Photo set 009 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (35 photos)

Woke up early this morning. Real early, like 6:30 am. Didn't seem too bad at the time really. Anyway, drove up North to meet up with Bron and Duncan, at a place called "Spit Bridge". Like a spit of land, not like drool. Anyway, we went to the south side of the bridge, called Pearl Bay. It was wicked. The scenery was amazing, the landings perfect grass, and the climbing super fun. Not too much there, but more than enough for a morning. We climbed for a while until Bronwen had to work. Then I met up (after an epic nightmare of logistics and driving) with my buddy Neil from Hong Kong, and we headed out to Queen's park (the only place I knew how to find! What a shitty tour guide!!) and we bouldering for a while more in the "arvo" as they call it here. I was a zombie, so tired, and Neil hasn't been climbing for a while, so neither of us was particularly productive, but it was a good day nonetheless. Enjoy those photos, chumps.

Photo set 008 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (17 photos)

Saturday and Sunday this weekend was a bust, since we didn't have a car (old greenie was in the shop) so we ended up taking a train to this close (but crappy) area called Lindfield. Basically it's a little crag in the woods that is vertical, and super easy. I guess back in the day it was pretty popular. There actually were some people there, but they were beginners in a hard way. Anyway, there was one little overhanging section, so we climbed for about 15 minutes, then left. Ha. Oh well, at least I can say I've been there!

Photo set 007 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (21 photos)

This morning Duncan picked me and Brendon up at the ledge and we drove a ways south to a place called Sutherland. It was pretty good, the rock was everything from sandy and smooth to supershard and bulletproof. An amazing V12 called "Contact" caught my eye, and may become a project. I onsighted a line called "Burgers", a really hard V5, and spent some time on a route "Savage", which must be the hardest V8 ever. Brendon and Duncan worked "Burgers" for the day. It was good, but the McDonalds afterwards was a contender for best part of the day.

Photo set 006 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (50 photos)

After having a big bbq last night at my place, we (me, Brendon, Sam and Duncan) woke up bright and early (not together) and headed to Sissy Crag, which is up in North Sydney somewhere. It's a crazy place, with lots of super cool rock and some crazy problems (if a bit contrived). The weather was good 'cause it's in the shade all day, and we were there at 8:30 am. Sam was mostly taking a rest day, but we all had a good time. Lots of nice pics.

Photo set 005 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (30 photos)

Saturday morning we shook off the hangover and headed up to Frontline again! I met up with Bronwen, who is crazy strong girl, and awesome, Sam, who is still awesome, and new guy Simon, and new guy Kevin. I think? Kevin? Hmm... Anyway, it was good. The light was low, so actually nearly all the pictures are shitty.. but look good in the thumbnails, so have fun thinking you're going to see a good picture, but not. Sorry. Enjoy though!

Photo set 004 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (13 photos)

After partying last night we met up with Stuart (from Scotland, not Stuart from Hong Kong) and went climbing at Frontline again. Brendon was gonna get on the V8 we worked last time, and I wanted to hop on "L'homme Obu", a V11 that Fred Nicole put up, supposedly. Anyway, we did that, but it was just too much, having climbed pretty hard on Saturday too. We ended up leaving fairly soon, I think we all felt pretty crap. Anyway, it was still a good morning.

Photo set 003 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (37 photos)

A great little early morning trip out to Queen's Park with Brendon, Sam, Cyd and Rocio. We had fun climbing on super easy access stuff, checked out some real life cricket, then went out for lunch in Bondi Junction. Pretty low key, but good.

Photo set 002 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (31 photos)

Friday night at the gym I met Brendon and his friends, and he invited me out to go climbing at a place called "Frontline", about 40 minutes away from where I live. We met up at 10 ish and drove down, me Brendon and Sam, and met up with another guy, Duncan, who drove their on his own. We climbed a ton of nice problems (although it was quite hot). I managed to send the "area classic" V6, and I sent a fairly hard problem (V8?) so that was really cool. I didn't spot my "project" for the area, but I'm told there's a Fred Nicole linkup that goes at V11 around there somewhere. Anyway, some very cool rock, definitely a good area. Enjoy.

Photo set 001 - Uploaded May 15, 2008 (22 photos)

My last climbing trip in Hong Kong. A Sad day indeed. I went up to Colin's Boulder with Stuart and Suet Man and her gang, and had an awesome time. I climbing "Tai Pan" which was Stuart's project for ages, but he let me have it as a going away present. Anyway, he went back and fired it super easily the weekend after, so it's not like he missed out on anything. After climbing I went to Karaoke for the first time. It was super embarassing, but quite fun. I guess I just need to get into it. It's hard too, I sucked super bad at it. So much for my amazing singing career.
