Share on Facebook 2009-08-12: TFG it's humpday!
Well, it's hump day today. Lovely day for a hump day. I love that word. "Hump". It just sounds so cozy, on so many levels. "How are you doing today?" "Humpy! Thanks for asking!"
I just now finally got around to making MS Word stop turning straight quotes like this " into fancy quotes, that are angled and matching. Like anyone needs that feature. What am I, an 1850's typesetter? What is this, a leather bound edition of my life's works? No. It's not, MS Word, just give me my regular quotes, and everything's humpy.
Remember when I got my eyebrow chopped open when I got kicked in the head by that horse? Well that wasn't true, in case you couldn't tell. What actually happened is that my Krav instructor and I were kickboxing, and he wailed on my face really hard with his fist. Anyway, we took photos, and I just got them emailed to me. I have to warn you though, it's not a very humpy thing to look at. It's downright nauseating, actually.
I am still stressing out about these stitches. The 6 year old intern who sewed them did a terrible job, I'm sure of it. The SFB doctor (I am implementing my new technique for swear words here) didn't even care to supervise. Then she comes in when it's almost over and is like "Oh, you should start at the middle, and bisect the distances" and "See how it doesn't line up there?" Yeah you GDFB, it doesn't line up because your intern is 6 and her fine motor skills aren't F developed yet!
I was in fact so unhumpy with my GDF stitches that I went to a clinic to see another doctor, to get a second opinion, if you will. Well, she said "They're fine" or she might have said "They're good" or even "They're great" because whatever she said, I didn't believe her. What part of "great" or "fine" or even "good" involves a big F overhang of flesh that juts out like the pouty lip of a spoiled 6 year old? Maybe a spoiled 6 year old who just finished her 2nd year of med school. Anyway, I think I'll do my own GD stitches next time, at least I'll get some street cred for it, instead of just being like "Dude, lame scar." "Yeah, I was attacked by a 6 year old med student with shaky hands."

Wilkinson, 2009-08-12, 21:44:48 So let me get this straight - you happily get your face carved open by your 'instructor' and then you're worried about some faint scarring from some average stitching? Mitch, you are a queer one my friend..... |

Good point. - Mitch, 2009-08-12, 21:48:58 Yeah, I didn't make that very clear. The only reason I'm worried about the scar and the cut is that if it's poorly done it'll reopen too F easily the next time I get hit there. So it's not the scar I care about, it's the quality of the healing. |
