Share on Facebook 2008-02-24: I got a new phone, too.

Aaah, a beautiful Sunday.

When it's sunny in the morning my room becomes like a science experiment where a kid uses a magnifying glass to light ants on fire. Basically it's so bright in there I typically wake up during dreams where I'm asking everyone I know "Have you seen my new sunglasses? Does anyone know where my Oakleys are? Anyone? It's so bright!?". But it's good, because in The Burn' I used to be able to sleep until 1 or 2 pm, and that has a way of shortening a weekend, if you know what I'm talkin' about.

Today was a busy one. I woke up, ate the very last thing I had to eat (toast with cinnamon spread: not the cornerstone of a super-athlete diet,) milled around for a bit until Colin got up, then we went for a run. We ran pretty hard, especially considering I am still sick. I thought I was going to die of oxygen deprivation actually, man I couldn't breathe.

Then I played Geometry Wars on the Wii.

Then I took out the garbage, and when I was doing that I saw a guy washing his car in the underground parking. I asked him "is this allowed!?" and he said yeah, no one cares, it's cool. Which is rad, because I immediately drove to Canadian Tire, and bought $160 worth of cleaning supplies.

When I got home Colin needed my help going to pick up a new drafting table he bought off some dude. The damned thing must have weighed about 400 lbs, and we had to cart it like 4 blocks. That's a long-ass walk, if you're counting. And the whole time we had this guy's ominous warning in mind: "If you touch that lever without the table top on it, those arms will swing so fast, you could honestly decapitate yourself." ... Now, we didn't think to check out the validity of that claim ourselves, but it sure made the walk interesting. I felt like I was walking around carrying a sleeping, poisonous snake or something.

Anyway, we got'er done. Then I spent the rest of the day cleaning my car. So much fun! It's nice as hell, I'm stoked.

I took some photos of our house. I don't feel like they do it justice, but I figure I'll upload them for you to take a look at anyway.

Our super duper hallway. It's narrow and long, like a good hallway should.

Granite countertops, gas stove, every stainless appliance.
Our kitchen. It's not usually this messy. This is all mostly Colin's fault.
He doesn't have much respect for general cleanliness. (Not true.)

Fireplace, Wii, and a view.
This is where the real magic happens. This place rules.

Look this way, and be merry.
The view just out and left. Hello darling!

I wonder if they sell snacks??
The floating Chevron station. We love it!

Mostly an experiment with my new phone.
The Chevron glowing in the night.

Now this is the life.
Today we sat in the sun and drank beer on the waterfront.
This bar is literally one block from our front door.

We love The Mill.
A (bad) panoramic shot of how awesome of a spot to hang out. The Mill bistro!

I think that's a good start. There's lots more to see. Plus now that my car is clean I need to get some shots of that too. I want to get some hella pro ones! I'll wait for sunset. Maybe I should fly Jardine out, he could do some super pro ones.

Oh, so yeah, those photos were taken on my new phone, which is one of these: Sony Ericsson K850i. I got the blue one, not that hideous green trimmed thing. It has a 5 megapickle camera in it, which is awesome. And I get a free 8 Jigga-bite card for it, so goodbye iPod! I just consolidated three tools into one. Plus my monthly phone bill is less, and my phone is more. Fun! I also downloaded Chessmaster for it, so goodbye commute! Now my only problem will be not missing my stop.

Alright, here's a car link. The Splinter, an unfortunately named wooden supercar. It sounded cool at first (although I actually figured it was BS) but in fact they say it's a university project. Anyway, I love wood, and I love cars, so I love this project. I want to build one!

K, Mitch out. Here's an old school Married To The Sea for your entertainment:

Damn ... nice place Mitch! Cheers for posting up the link to the wooden supercar, thats some cool stuff. That being said for some reason your legs being between the upper and lower control arms of the suspension in a car doesn't seem like a good idea.

Methinks you forgot the part about 3 of us sitting around Rogers *all day* whilst you were GETTING your new phone! How supportive, we, your #1 fans truly are!

Coudldn't you have gone for something a bit more modern, and with a view? What will my friends think of me. Like I associate with people that don't have marble worktops.

Mitch, 2008-02-28, 14:54:33

Granite. Countertop of the working class.
